Are you getting ready for Valentine’s Day? Do you do anything to celebrate? I don’t usually do anything, and Valentine’s Day isn’t a big deal in our house, but, my kids are at the age where parties with their friends are fun, so I thought we’d have a Valentine’s Day party!
I’ve been working hard to put together something fun for both the adults in attendance as well as the children… a little something for everyone if you will. Of course I turned to Pinterest for inspiration and found this:
I loved it! I have felt, I have yards and yards of felt to be honest. I buy white felt several yards at a time for projects like this. Having my Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays makes it really easy for me to alter the felt to the color I want, instead of having several yards of several colors.
I simply picked two colors that are very vibrant, one pink, and one red. My go-to pink is always Hibiscus Rose. It’s my absolute favorite, and it’s so vibrant! For red, I used Rizzo’s Rowdy Red, another gorgeous, vibrant color. I have a vinyl tablecloth I like to use for big projects like this. I began by laying that out, laid out my felt pieces, and began spraying. I allowed the felt to dry over night and was able to sew it the following day, with no problems. Without further ado…
I have several glass jars that sit on a buffet area, and I wanted to make it more appealing. So I added lots of pink, red and white felted hearts. I loved the way it turned out, it’s a great conversation pieces, especially among other crafty moms, designing ‘on a dime!’ The best part is, my daughters (seven and six) helped to make the hearts. So they can brag to their friends about the cute decorations they made!
