Love You to the Moon by Guest Designer Kim Price

“My name is Kim Price and I live on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia with my husband and family. I began scrapbooking 12 years ago when I started recording details and photographs of our family holidays and my love for papercrafting has grown from there. I’ve always been a big fan of mixed media having had a love for the arts all my life, and using things such as paint and mediums in my layouts seemed like a natural thing. To me, each creation is a work of art in it’s own right and I love the creative process from start to finish.
Color features heavily in my scrapbooking and it is one of my biggest influences. I love bright and bold combinations and I am probably best known for my customised background work.
I currently design for BasicGrey, The Scrapbook Store, Scrap365 magazine and Sketchbook365.
I’m really excited to have the opportunity to Guest Design for Lindy’s this month and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been up to.”

For my first project I wanted to create something which really typifies my own scrap style and show off what you can do with Lindy’s mists.
I’ve started out with a plain 12×12 chipboard base, given it a coat of white gesso and allowed it to dry completely. I then added some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst mist in Tibetan Poppy Teal – which is a gorgeous shade of rich teal and blue shimmer – over my background, concentrating the color in the area I wanted my design to be on the page. I’ve then added a light misting of water for a mottled effect and dried the whole thing off completely with a heat tool. I love the way Lindy’s mists respond with water, and you can achieve some really cool effects using just these basic few steps.
Because the background work in this layout is a little “busy” looking I decided to keep my embellishments simple, preferring to use just a few coordinating patterned paper layers and a customised title. I’ve used a diecut sentiment on plain white smooth cardstock and added some bold color with Lindy’s Stamp gang Flat Fabio mist in Summer Lovin’ Sun which is really all it needed.
Thank you for stopping by! I will be showcasing more projects and tutorials throughout the month so be sure to stop by!
