Hi friends, It’s Lizzy with you today sharing a new video tutorial.
I have made a collaged journal cover in a very free or messy style, no rules, not thinking too much, just letting it flow. The only thing I kept in mind was not using more than three colors and one or two neutrals. In this case I used Golden Sleigh Bells, Ocean Breeze Blue, Bells of Ireland Green and the neutral Café au Lait.
I started by applying masking tape to a piece of freezer paper and painting it.
Using multiple papers and fabric pieces I begun my collage
I assembled the small pieces then sew everything together onto a cotton fabric

I hope you were inspired to create one of your own. It definitely makes my journal look so pretty from the outside. See you next time!

LOVE this Lizzy! I really love how you used the masking tape!!!! xoxo
Thank you Lisa!! I don’t know how to sew either. The fun thing is to stitch freely as you can see in my cover so you can get that messy look.
Thank you Marta!
This is really SO INNOVATIVE Lizzy! I always LOVE LOVE LOVE your work! I need to learn how to sew (LOL!) I inherited a fancy sewing machine that also embroiders and I don’t know the first thing….think I better get it cleaned and take some sewing lessons! I really love when sewing is used. Lisa : )
Oh my this is fabulous project, love the idea !!!
It’s so much fun to sew on your projects!!
This is freaking cool! I’ve really got to get the sewing machine out and do some stuff 🙂
Really like your journal cover! I’ll call it “intuitive chaos”! Thanks for sharing
