Background and Embellishment Tutorial By Marta Turska- Grochocka

Hello! It’s Marta Turska – Grochocka – JaMajka here.

Today I would like to show you, how to create some texture without using an embossing folder. All you have to do is to use extra heavy gel medium, gesso, and a stencil!

Later, when you use Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays, you will get wonderful background for your projects!

Step 1: Apply a thick layer of Extra heavy gel medium on a cardstock with a stencil.

Make it smooth with a spatula.

Step 2: When gel medium dries, cover it with a gesso.Step 3: Apply a thin layer of gesso and try to make it smooth with no brush strokes.Step 4: Prepare some mists. I used colors from July Color Challenge.
Step 5: Apply mists on your project, starting from the brightest colors.
Step 6: Add some spots and stains, let it dry (or dry it with a heat gun). This is my finished background, you can use it for any project you like!

I made a card. I used some paper flowers too, I added some color using Lindy’s Stamp Gang spray – Peony Scarlet Red.

First, I covered all flowers with water using spray.
Then, I added just a little bit spot of color right to the center of the flower.
On the paper rose I used small ammount of mist just to color only edges of the flower. After coloring, I sprayed my flowers with water one more time. It makes the color blend with the water, and with paper and it softens it as well. And it’s done 🙂This is the final look on a card:

I hope you enjoyed my photo tutorial and that you will try these techniques!

Thank You for stopping by 🙂
