Batik Technique Card

Hello there!
It’s JaMajka Marta Turska – Grochocka here 🙂
How You doing after Christmas?
I hope you are well, happy and ready for a quick technique blog post!

My technique is kind of batik technique.
I used masking fluid, which let me to leave some places not coloured by sprays.
It creates a lot of possibilities! You can make your own colorful elements,
patterned background and interesting accents in your artworks!

Take a look how it works:
Step 1: I prepared a few pieces of paper cut into the card’s size (or other project).

Step 2: I covered my paper pieces with gesso.

Step 3: Later I applied masking fluid (you can make any pattern you want).

Step 4: Let it dry.

Step 5: I applied some mists – I used Queen of hearts
and Cafe Au Lait from December 2015 Color Challenge Set.
I’ve rubbed off the layer of masking fluid with a rubber.

Step 6: Just compose your card from paper elements. I prepared a batik flower.

Here are some details and close-ups.

I hope you found this technique interesting and useful!
I wish You a very happy and creative New Year 2016 🙂

Marta – JaMajka
