Hi Lindy’s fans!
Caroline with you today to show you a fabulous way to make a quick canvas background with my beloved Magical powders!
Magical powders are water reactive and some of them have beautiful shimmer effect, I’ve worked with both here. I’ve used different yellow and pink shades to make the texture of my background pop. I used Yellow rose of Texas, Summer lovin’ Sun, Pretty in Pink Pink, Pink Ladies pink and Bells of Ireland green to do this cute canvas.
First I’ve put modeling paste over a stencil and I let it dry completely. With a fan brush, I’ve sprinkled some yellow and pink powders one at a time and sprayed water over them to make the powders react. With a wet brush I’ve blended the colors together at random places.
I painted a chipboard with white gesso and I embossed it with Razzleberry plum embossing powder. Look at this gorgeous vivid color!
I’ve cut out a leaf that was stamped on watercolor paper and colored it with Bells of Ireland green magical powder. I used a wet brush that I carefully dip in my container, be sure to wipe any excess of water, you don’t want your magicals to get wet in the container. You can mix the powder with a tiny amount of water on your working surface.
So let’s get a look at the final result!
You can see the stunning shimmer effect of the powder around the modeling paste. It catches the light and makes the texture even deeper!
You can see my entire process on a short video that I made. You can see it here or on the Lindy’s stamp gang youtube channel of course!
