Life is beautiful Watercolor Layout by Sanderijn de Bruin

Hi everybody, it’s Sanderijn here, for the very first time. Boy am I excited to finally show you the watercolor layout that I created for Lindy’s!

I have used the wonderful Starburst sprays to create the background for this page.

In the art of watercolor artists often use heavy watercolor paper and wet it thoroughly with a brush, and then brush watercolors onto the paper to create landscapes – this is called Wet-in-Wet. I got the idea to use the Starburst sprays (a fluid watercolor) and let the colors move and blend in a certain way. This way you get a vivid, colorful background paper, that actually needs no processing afterward. I made a video for you to see how this technique goes.

My butterflies are all stamped and embossed with Lindy’s wonderful embossing powder Midnight teal. I actually have some older jars, but they don’t seem to get empty, no matter how many times I use them!

I painted my flowers and chipboard with Starburst sprays Hi Maintance magenta, Prima donna purple, Edelweiss moss green, Ponderosa Pines Olive, and Drop dead gorgeous green and Magicals shimmer powder set Drop dead diva.

Here are a few close up photos so you can see the colors.
