Magical Shakers Background with Caroline

Hi lovely people!

Caroline with you today to share a fun technique to make your own backgrounds with the new Magical Shakers! If you don’t have those already I suggest you to give them a try, they are so fun to work with!!!

It’s quite simple and I suggest you to watch the short video I’ve filmed that is at the end of this post, an image worth thousand words they say!

I’ve started with a 140lb watercolor paper and I’ve sprinkled some Magical Shakers over it. You don’t need a lot of powder, this product is highly pigmented. A tiny amount is enough to obtain that fabulous look.

The key is all in your way to spray your water over it. You need a gentle spray of water, one that will spray a light mist. I always start from about 8 inches from my paper and I add water just enough to make the powder react.

I LOVE to see the individual pigments and I don’t want them to blend totally. Add water a little at a time and let the powder and the paper react together.

Look at this beauty! With only 2 Magical shakers color I’ve got so many gorgeous shades! I used here Oom pah pah pink and Polka purple and I got to say that I’m totally in love with those color!

I made a layout with this amazing background to show you the effect on a scrapbook page.

I used Polka Purple Embossing Powder to match the title to my background and the color is so rich! I love the fact that the new color of embossing powders are quite opaque, it make the embossing of chipboards soooo easy! One coat of powder is enough.

Do you see the stunning sparkling in the background? The Magical shakers are shiny, just a little, to make a look even more fabulous!
