Step by Step Clean Layout with Caroline

Hi gang!

I’m super happy to be with you today to share this step by step tutorial I made. I love to explore different scrapbook styles but my favorite ever is Clean and Simple. I love to have the focus on my picture with a lot of white space.

I have used a bunch of yellow Flat Fabio and Starburst sprays to create a unique background with a resist pattern on my watercolor paper. Let’s have a look at the layout before starting the tutorial.

As I said I used a watercolor paper because it’s the best to have a beautiful look with your inks. I’ve started with Matte gel medium over a stencil and I let it dry. After this, I took 3 wonderful Lindy’s shades of yellow to color the resist portion on my background. I colored it with Flat fabio Bonjour Butter, Flat fabio Pineapple Paradise and Starburst Yellow rose of Texas. I’ve let it air dry as I prefer the result.

After the background coloring I mixed art ingredient and yellow beads with Matte gel medium and added it around where I want my picture. I let it dry completely before adding the same yellow inks over it to color the ingredients texture. I ended up with some drops of Flat fabio Sidewalk chalk over all.

Then I choose some white and yellow embellishments to fit my design.

The design is simple and bold.

I love how the simplicity draws focus to the photo.
