Purples and blues Layout with Caroline

Hi lovely gang!

As I’ve often said purples are my favorite shades. Mix them with blues and you have an amazing combo! The colors I used for this page are so rich and bold this is eye-catching!

I used the fun Starburst sprays on this layout to make my background and to color my flowers. I love the shimmer in them!

First I started with the lighter, Whale watch blue was my choice here. With a wet brush, I’ve created a strip that went left to right on my paper. I added each color one by one with a very wet brush and sometimes a bit of misted water. I used then Hydrangea Blue, Sweet Violet Purple Teal, Magnolia Magenta Gold and finally Prima Donna Purple.

It’s not obvious on this picture but I’ve splattered some clean water over the ink to make it react.

The clean water creates variations in the color.

To finish my background I’ve splattered (in color order) some inks drops over my watercolor background.

Next emboss some stamped flowers with Lindy’s Obviously black powder and I’ve colored them with the same combination of spray colors that I used on the background.

Some close-ups of the final result. I’ve embossed my doily chippie with Polka purple embossing powder which is opaque and gives a gorgeous focal point.

I’ve filmed my entire process in a short video if you want to see more details! You can find it also on the Lindy’s gang Youtube channel.
