Lindy’s Cupcake Tray from Papermade Fairytale

My name is Aleksandra but a lot of you know me aka “Papermade fairytale”. I live with my loving husband and my three wonderful children in a small, beautiful European country Slovenia. I’m 35 years old and have been more actively crafting for the last 8 years.

My art is one of the major parts of my life and has turned from my hobby into my job that I love. I can not imagine my day without crafting. I love everything from papers, mixed media supplies, flowers and chipboards. I’m a color enthusiast so I have a lovely collection of coloring supplies along with one of my absolute favourite ones – Lindy’s.

My favourite Lindy’s products are without a doubt Magicals. I just love the explosion and play of different color shades when you activate them with water.  My favourite colors would be Sassy Sapphire and Tibetan Poppy Teal and I also love Edelweiss moss green. It’s so hard to pick just one or a few. 🙂 Each is gorgeous in its own way!

I love striking and bold color combinations as well as soft palettes on the other side. My greatest passion is making off the page projects, mixed media altered art, exploding boxes with miniature “worlds” inside. But I also love to relax with art journals, tags, cards and layouts. I most often search and find my inspiration in nature and everyday life. Sometimes overflow of my ideas keeps me awake at night. 🙂 I hope you can find some inspiration in my work.
I love to make off the page projects. And I love to create stories with them! I tried to do the same with my today’s project.
I altered a coffee maker which we weren’t using anymore and added a cup of coffee and some cupcakes and sweets – all you need for a perfect relaxed afternoon with a friend. I first prepared a coffee maker which I covered with white gesso and crackle texture paste.

I colored it with several coats of Lindy’s Starbursts – for the first coat I used Icy Primrose gold, which I emphasized with shades of Cocklebells Coral here and there and for a bit of added interest I shaded everything with Bratwurst brown Magical shaker and Cajun Carnelian red Magical.

The coffee cup is colored with my favourite shades of Lindy’s – Sassy Sapphire for the base coat and Tibetan Poppy Teal for some highlights. I used a bit lighter shade of blue for the cupcake trays – TiffanyLou Blue. I found Creme Brulee Cream Starburst perfect for coloring of my “whipped cream” on top of the cupcakes and coffee. And I used Bayou Boogie gold Magical for the batter and Bratwurst brown Shaker for the coffee.
The Coffee stains on the tray are made with Bratwurst brown Magical shaker mixed with some gel medium and texture paste and applied through a stencil. I’ve also added some additional color to the paper flowers, because I wanted them to match perfectly with the rest of the project. I used Bayou Boogie gold for the yellow roses and Cajun Carnelian red for the orange roses.
I paired gorgeous Lindy’s with another amazing company – Graphic 45. The Cafe Parisian was just perfect for the occasion. There is a detailed video tutorial available on my youtube channel so you can follow through if you’d like to. 🙂

Aleksandra has even filmed a video for you all!

This is a big honour to me! I absolutely love Lindy’s and I’m using them in almost each of my project and it is a dream come true to be even a small part of it also officially!
