Hi everyone, I am Pearline Alex. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and two kids. I am a doctor, though as of now am taking care of my kids. My cousin is a mixed media artist and she made 2 projects for me, that’s how I got hooked on mixed media.
I started googling and the first video i came across was one from Marta Lapowska, where she used Lindy’s Sprays. I got some . I got hooked on them!!! Now my Lindy’s sprays occupies a great space in my craft room, and the stash is still growing. One thing i love about Lindy’s is they always surprise me. It gives different shades or shimmers on black gesso and white. You will always be surprised when you use it for the first time. This is my special project as a guest designer for LINDYS STAMP GANG.
I wanted to make something unique and then i came across this photograph, at once i decided this was it, and that I wanted my work to be a continuation of this scenery.
First i primed the canvas with white gesso, then to continue the mountain effect I used a brick stencil with texture paste in Graphite (my new favourite). Then I coloured it with Lindy’s Sprays in Mystic Malachite and Milk Chocolate Truffle.
I loved it and to be more naturalistic i added some small stones.
Then to continue the trees part I used Stone Effect Paste in Concrete and made the texture using pallete knife and of course I used Lindy’s Sprays to add color: Afternoon Delight Denim, Frosty Forest Green, Van Dyke Sepia and Screamin Banshee Black – were the perfect combination!
I absolutely loved the result, what a nice finish they give – the shimmer in them makes it look gorgeous.
For the sky part i added some cotton fabric too.. I coloured it with Lindy’s Sprays in Silent Night Silver, Gag Me With a Spoon Grey and Steel Shimmer.
I wanted it to be mimimalistic, so i just stamped a little in the corners with Archival Ink Jet Black.
Now i added some metal embellishments, some flowers, some pebbles that I handpicked from a river in Israel when i went for a vacation there, some wooden buttons, some spices from my kitchen, some art pebbles.
At last to match with the copperish brown trees i highlighted that part of my canvas with Finnabair Art Alchemy Rich Copper Wax
Some more shots for you….
Love the shimmer from the Lindy’s.
I am so very satisfied with what i did, I think i have done justice to my picture.
