Magicals and Tattoo Art Journal Insert

Hi dears, it’s Asia here with another project for Lindy’s blog:) Today I have for you an art journal insert (one day I will put all of my inserts together and make a proper journal when I get some time, that is :). For this project, I’ve decided to show you how easy it is to create a page with regular tattoos and Magicals.
Let’s have a look:)

All you’ll need is Magicals (I used 3 of them: Ponderosa Pines Olive, Tibetan Poppy Teal (all part of the Autumn Leaves set) and Sidewalk Chalk.  Of course, you can use sprays if you want, or both at the same time- the sky is the limit! You’ll need also temporary tattoos- the sort you can buy in a regular shop. The rest is up to you:)

First, decide on your page composition, the focal point, etc, then you place the tattoos and wet them well with a brush (a brush will help you contain the water where it’s really needed).

When you remove the backing papers, check if tattoos are stuck to the page, then wait few minutes to let them dry. Next, add some water with a brush around the tattoos (don’t worry if water or paint covers the tattoos, you can always clean them up with a wet cloth). You could spray water onto the page, but using a brush will give you more control.
And the fun begins- just add Magicals! I love applying them, spreading a little with a brush, adding some water, then drying with a heat gun and repeating the process again. Here I did few layers that way, which gave me the beautiful stains you see in the close-ups 🙂

Next, add some stamping with embossing powder- I used Lindy’s Drop Dead Gorgeous Green.

And if you know me a little, you know I can’t live without a good splatter:) Sidewalk Chalk Magical is perfect for it!

To finish my project I added some stickers from Jane Davenport and Glossy Accents to add more texture, I used them to cover the small butterflies as well as the stickers.

To finish the page, sew the edges with a sewing machine. This is the final result.
