Hi my favourite gang!
Today I am coming to you with new art journal page made with Lindy’s Magical Shakers – something which I love to create! This one was really fun to do as I experimented a lot while making it. To top it off I am really happy with the end result. This is my true self in this creation and I hope you’ll like it:)
I started by trying something I have never done before. I took a piece of mix media paper and folded in a half. I opened it up again and sprayed one side of the paper with water, then added Magical Shakers: Guten Tag Teal & Grab a Guy Gold.
Then I quickly folded the paper. After opening it up again, I got a beautiful mirrored image.
Then very quickly (really don’t overthink it here) I placed the open paper on my art journal page. The paint was still wet, so I got another mirrored image in my journal, without the need of folding it in a half 🙂 The image is not as rich as the first one, but why not? With Lindy’s you can do really what you want when it comes to the intensity of the color. And I really love the fact that this small trick worked!
Next step was to add reverse stenciling. To do this I sprayed the stencil very lightly with Starburst Midnight Rendezvous Raven spray and placed it on the page.
To build up the background I added torn pieces of masking and washi tape. On the side I mixed up a tiny bit of Guten Tag Teal Shaker powder with water and used it to ink the stamp (remember to spread the paint a little and don’t put too much of the paint on the stamp to get a clear image).
Next, emboss the dragonfly chipboard: firstly with Black Forest Black EP, then sprinkled over it a little of Desert Moon Copper Teal EP (this powder is pinkish in color when applied on clear surface, but changes into rich, deep green when applied onto black and I just love that quality in some of Lindy’s EP!).
I finished the page by adding few small embellishments, some thread and by drawing borders.
Here are some close-ups:

Hi everyone and thank you so much for all this beautiful comments! It’s really a fun idea to do the mirrored image, although time is of the essence in that case! ANd it’s better to try it first on a piece of paper, lol:) Lynda, the two-toned embossing powders are really gorgeous and you can get out of them two colors completely different one from the other:) If it comes to the embellishment it’s a piece of a very cheap circular napkin, it’s some kind of fabric and I think it’s sold as a decoration for wedding:) No brand at all:) Thank you all again! Hugs, Asia
OOhh, I love this! Such gorgeous colours and fabulous work!
What a cool idea to get mirror background s !! I loved the reverse stenciling too..
Love everything about this! Thanks for the great idea about creating mirror images. Never knew the embossing powders change color on different surfaces…….just added another to my wish list! If I may ask, what is the white embellishment with circles behind the dragonfly?
What a delightful idea!
I love this so much! Simple and delicate. love the simplicity of the few colors chosen.
Gorgeous art journal page!
