Applying Lindy’s with a Brayer- Art Journal with Asia

Hi Lindy’s Friends 🙂

Today I have for you a fun and simple technique. I finally bought myself a brayer so when I got it my first thought was obviously- can I apply Lindy’s sprays and powder with it? And yes, that’s possible and I love the different effect I achieved 🙂

So that’s how I started- I chose Magical Shaker- Cuckoo Clock Cardinal and Starburst spray- California Poppy Gold.    I was working in my new homemade art journal, from which I can actually remove the pages and later put them back in.

I took a die-cut of a circle, temporarily adhered it to the page and then sprayed a little of my spray on the craft mat.

Then I took little bit of powder from the shaker, and sprayed it with the water over the mat. I started applying the colors by rolling the brayer in the paint and then onto the page. I needed to tilt the brayer sometimes and apply in different directions so not to get one fat line of color. I started with the red, then applied the golden yellow.

Next step, was to add some black and grey stamping. I used a chevron stamp which reminds me of arrows- I wanted to make the impression of movement on my page. At the end of this step I removed the die-cut circle, used the circular stitching stamp and embossed it with  Obviously Black EP.

I didn’t want to leave the middle of my circle white, so I put some Blazing Black Magical powder onto my mat and sprayed it with water. To make different shades of color I made three pools of paint each one little lighter than the other (by diluting it with water)

On the white piece of paper I stamped and embossed with Obviously Black EP small heart, part of Visible Image stamp. Inside I added cornelian iced enamel.

Magicals can serve you in so many ways- on the photo below you’ll see that I actually used tube from Magicals to wrap the metal wire around it and make it in shape of the circle:)

The wire, which was adhered to the page with 3D gel, made the circle even more prominent. The rest was to add some borders, some doodling with white pen and some black micro beads around the wire.  Here is the end effect and I hope you’ll try using brayer with Lindy’s products to get some really beautiful effects 🙂
