Mixing Magical Shakers with Paint with Caroline

Hi lovely gang!

Caroline here today to share another fun creation I made lately. You know I’m so in love with Lindy’s products and I always try to find new ways to use my inks and powders. Today I tried to mix Magical Shakers with paint to see how it goes.

First, I used 3 of the colors included in our fabulous September combo. In fact, this layout is the one I made to inspire you for the monthly challenge. I wanted to show you how I made my original background.

I mixed white paint with Oktoberfest orange, Time travel teal and Bavarian blue magical shakers. Add a good amount of powder if you want bold colors and just a bit for light shades.

Mix it carefully, because like you probably already know, magical shakers are composed of different pigments to make one gorgeous color and if you don’t mix it well you may have little surprises.

On 6×6 white cardstock, I added both blues randomly with a brush to partly cover the background.

I used my fingers to add the orange, here and there.

I’ve continued to alternate with the 3 colors until I was happy with the results. I worked on the cardstock like it was an art journal page.

Once dry, I added white splatters with the white paint diluted with a bit of water to make it fluid.

And voilà!

A gorgeous eye catching background for my layout!

I hope you like it, those 3 colors together are not a combo I’m used to but it was so fun to play with it!

Thank you for your time and see you next month!
