Missing Summer Canvas with Olga Ravenskaya

Hi gorgeous Lindy’s friends!

It’s Olga Ravenskaya here with my new canvas using beautiful Lindy’s green and yellow colors!

Autumn has just begun but I’m already missing summer 😉 I had an awesome photo taken by my friend in the blooming poppy field, so I decided to make a canvas about happy sunny and shiny day.

How many shades of yellow and green do you know?  Below there are only few of beautiful Lindy’s sprays and powders in these colors!

I started my work with Bling-y Blonde, Summer Lovin’ Sun and California Poppy Gold Sprays applying them through the stencil imitating the sunshine.

In the bottom half of the canvas I used Edelweiss Moss Green, Aloha Avocado and Drop Dead Gorgeous Green sprays, just spraying them from the bottles through the same stencil.

Here is the result 😉

Then I decided to add “sun glares”, so I partially applied a transparent paste, sprinkled over it with Spring Leaf Chartreuse and Starbright Gold Green embossing powders and warmed with a heat gun.

These powders are transparent a bit, love how beautifully they look like on the colored surface!

To make the background more interesting I added a white texture paste through the lace stencil.

Then I stamped a bit using grey and green Stazon inks.

To support the pattern of butterfly wings I decided to add yellow dots. So I used the same stamp with embossing ink and bright Luminous Lemon powder in the bottom and pale Scotch Broom Yellow powder in the upper part. Now I’m satisfied with the background and started to add the embellishments.

I decided to colorize all the elements using embossing powders, Lindys EPs are really perfect for all kinds of surfaces!

For example, I covered plastic buds with the embossing liquid using a dabber and totally covered them with two shades of green – Spring Leaf Chartreuse and Orbit Olive Gold.

Have a look at how gorgeous they turned out with that beautiful sheen!

For the flowers, I used Bonjour Butter and King Midas Gold powders – tapped with a dabber at the edges of the petals, sprinkled and then removed the excesses of the powder.

Here is the result – delicate and natural!

And one more tip: sometimes I colorized the edges of fussy cuttings for two reasons – to hide the roughness after using scissors and to add some color or shimmer like for this project. So I used King Midas Gold powder to get a beautiful shiny effect on the paper leaves and poppies. I also used the embossing dabber, tapped with it on the edges, sprinkled the powder and heated with a gun.

And some close-ups of the finished project as a little inspiration…
