Hey there Gang!
Over the last 12 months, I have been super lucky to be touring Australia as the Guest Artist for the Craft & Quilt Fair. I’ve met so many awesome people, taught the same class 89 times and learned so much about fabric, art and quilting too!
One of the most popular questions I get asked about Lindys products is if it can be used on Fabric! Well … the answer is YES! Because Lindy’s is a DYE INK … it will DYE the fabric! Can you just imagine the possibilities? I have tried it on Lycra, Cotton, Linen, Felt, Wool and so much more … but today, I’m going to use it on Calico!
I don’t know much about fabric and sewing – in fact – my Clever Trevor husband taught me to use the sewing machine but I had this idea in mind so had to make it happen!
I started with some strips of calico and used a selection of Lindy’s Starburst & Flat sprays to colour them. I really saturated the fabric and then pegged it to my clothesline to dry!
Once dry, I ironed each piece and then ironed them in half to get a nice crease.
The next step was to stitch them to a backing sheet, overlapping a little, layering each piece before adding a back piece and stuffing it with ‘pillow stuffing stuff’!
So, it’s certainly not perfect, but I love it … and it’s custom made by me!
Here is a very short video of the process for you!
