Dreaming of a Pink Christmas with Caroline

Hi lovely Lindy’s gang!

Caroline happy to be here today to share my latest creation with you. A Christmas layout with a non traditional color combo of black and pink! I used Lindy’s Magical and Starburst sprays to create an unique background. My inspiration started with this wonderful picture of my 2 nieces.

My hint to you, when you want to use ink over a pattern or a colored paper, use a thin coat of clear gesso to protect it.

When my gesso was dry, I mixed a fair amount of Magical powder with some paper paste to create texture over a stencil. I used the fabulous Raspberry Lemonade from the Under the boardwalk set.

The color you will obtain will depend on how much powder you use. The Magicals are pure pigments so you don’t need to use too much to get good color. Mix a tiny amount and dose to have the color you want. Remember that the paste will get a bit darker once dry.

From my picture I choose a combo that would be nice. I picked up Hottie Patottie Pink, Silent Night silver and Sidewalk chalk sprays.

Once my paste was totally dry, I started with Silent night silver to have shimmer over my stars stencil, then I let it dry.

I added spatters of pink that I sprayed gently with water.

I took a doily diecut and I sprinkled some pink magical powder on it with a flat fan shaped brush. I sprayed with water to activate the Magical pigments.

With the ink left over on my craft sheet, I colored some printed flowers. I simply “stamped” them over my ink.

Then I started to layer my picture with my embellishments.

Here’s the final result and some close ups!

That’s it for today, I hope you liked it and might give this non-traditional combo a try too with your own Christmas pictures!

See you soon for another tutorial!
