Merry and Bright Tags with Kerry

Hello Lindy’s fans!

Well here we are in the final run up to the festive season. Today I have a fun project share that you can use on cards, tags, in your art journal, pretty much anywhere you like.

You will need some white gesso and some mark making tools and your favorite Lindy’s Magicals for this project.

To begin, use your mark making tools to add some white gesso to a sheet of cardstock, and dry thoroughly.

Add some water to a palette and mix a small amount of your chosen magicals to create a watercolor wash. I have started with Autumn Maple Crimson. Apply in small patches on the gessoed page and spritz with water to allow the color to move. You will see that the gesso acts as a resist.

Add a second color and allow it to mingle with the first color, I’m using Grab a Guy Gold.

Continue adding more colors until your page is fully covered, I added Guten Tag Teal and Afternoon Delight Denim. Once dry, grab out the mark making tools again and this time use black paint. I have gone over the white gesso with the same tool and just offset it slightly. Dry thoroughly.

Next, we will cut triangular shapes….

…and punch some circles.

Ink around the edges of the shapes and voila… Trees and baubles. 

To finish your card or tag, place trees on the tag and draw in some tree trunks and some ground for your trees to sit on.                                                                                                  

For the baubles, draw some lines and a couple of loops for your string. Add some stamping for added interest.
