Hi gorgeous Lindy’s friends!
It’s Olga Ravenskaya here and today I’d like to share with you my DIY Winter Wreath using altered hoop, using gorgeous Lindy’s Sprays, Shakers and Embossing Powders. It’s a Christmas wreath or you can also use it as wintery wall decor.
This time I’ve picked for my project beautiful shades of pink, lilac and violet, you can see my choice on the photo below.
Firstly I finished a very dull job – wrapping the hoop with a jute cord using clear medium.
While it was drying I embossed the chipboard pieces with several powders – Imperial Crown Purple Gold, Aurora Amethyst and Raspberry Lemonade. I dabbed the chippie, applied powders from dark shade to the lightest to create a gradient effect.
…and warmed them with a heat gun.
For this piece I used a combination of Aurora Amethyst and Oom Pah Pah Pink powders.
A little tip: firstly I covered all the chippies with a white gesso to achieve a more smooth and beautiful covering.
Then I arranged and glued embossed chippies, pieces of lace, cones and a plastic deer as on the photo below.
Next step I decided to cover everything with a white gesso and at the same time to add colors.
So I combined the white gesso and with Polka Purple, Alpine Ice Rose Shakers and Tea Pot Purple Magical.
Then mixed the Magicals and gesso very well…
…and covered all the surface applying violet mixtures to the bottom side, pink – to the upper one.
Now it’s the time for relaxing spraying! 😉
Firstly I took Chateau Rose, Pink Ladies Pink, Raspberry Lemonade Flat Fabios and Magnolia Magenta Gold Starburst and colored up the upper part of the piece and the deer, just spraying from the bottles and mixing shades.
Then I intensified the colors of the bottom part using Flying Monkey Midnight Flat Fabio which has a very deep color and French Lilac Violet Starburst with its subtle blue shimmer.
At the end I added a deliciously enticing shine of true gold using Blazing Sun Glitz Spritz Spray. Look at this gorgeous effect on the cones!
Dry everything very well and added some more embellishments – flowers, leaves, berries, snowflakes and golden beads.
To match them perfectly to the whole project I poured a little amount of Raspberry Lemonade and French Lilac Violet Sprays into a palette…
…and carefully tint the flowers, snowflakes and berries using thin brushes.
After that, I went on all over the project with a white gesso using a sponge.
And finally, I added different kinds of toppings – clear beads and microbeads, sequins and “shaved ice”.
Done! 🙂
