Hello Everyone! Martina aka Frau Pony here with a scrapbooking layout on a self-made background using Lindy’s Magical Shakers and Heat Embossing.
I had this picture of a perfect winter morning on my desk and couldn’t find a nice patterned paper to create a scrapbook page with it.
Luckily, I had some perfectly matching Lindy’s Colors in my draw and could create my own, perfectly matching background.
I started with heat embossing and used two different shades of blue (Morning Glory Azure and Tilt-A-Wheel- Teal) to emboss the snowflakes. I didn’t dust off the Mica Powder that still lay on the paper after the heating (I like the subtle shimmer this added to the page). Then I added some gesso with my fingers on top of it and around my snowflakes to create some resist and interest on the paper.
Directly after the gesso had dried I added some of the colors to the paper. I sprinkled some of each Magical Shaker (Stormy Silver, Guten Tag Teal, Afternoon Delight Denim, Bavarian Blue) onto the dry paper and sprayed water on it. To get some more depth and intensity, I also added drops of the Banff Blue Squirt. I repeated these steps several times and tilted the paper between the steps to move the color around. Just to the moment where I absolutely loved my background.
I used some tree dies on white cardstock and a white doily to create a “mat” for my photo (and to incorporate this wintery feel even more!).
To add some finishing touches, I glued down sequins, a bit of thread and my beloved silvery foam thickers.
I absolutely love this background – it really matches with the photo like I’ve been wishing it would.
Thank you so much for watching!
