Watercolor Stenciled Layout with Caroline

Hi lovelies!

Caroline here today with another easy and fun technique. I LOVE white backgrounds, possibilities are endless and I can play as much as I want with my sprays! This time, I used only sprays but you can do the same with Lindy’s Squirts or Magicals.

First, I started with a stencil and Starburst Spray Prima Donna purple. I simply sprayed over it and I took off the excess of ink with a paper towel. I protected all around it to avoid mists outside of the design.

But even with protection, things happen and I got a little mess. No problem! I will watercolor over it and over the design randomly – this hides the mess and makes the design look more random. Use a wet brush and a bit of ink and just go over it.

Add a bit of water to dilute the ink and voilà! The mess is gone now.

I did the same on the opposite side of the stencil. I used Starburst Prima Donna purple and Flat fabio Frenchy’s pink pouf to create my watercolor effect.

Carefully dry the background and now you can start playing with your photos and embellishments!

Here’s the layout once done.

I really love this effect and the subtle watercoloring of the pattern.

Thank you for being here with me today and I hope I’ve been inspiring!
