Hey there Lindys Friends! Martina here with you today on the Lindy’s blog, sharing another DIY project idea – this time I have a Home Decoration Embroidery Hoop to share with you.
To get started, I have (roughly) cut a piece of cotton into the size I’ll be needing, then I covered the whole fabric with clear Gesso.
When the Gesso is completely dry, I randomly stamped the background with Archival Ink. I used background stamps as well as some leafy ones – just to get some pattern onto the fabric.
As a next layer, I added texture paste through a stencil and set the fabric aside to give it the time to dry completely.
In the meantime, I covered a lot of Wood Veneer pieces with white Gesso to prepare them for some Lindy’s Magic 🙂
Whilst the Wood Veneers are drying, the fabric was ready for some Color. I added Magical Shaker Powder onto my Glass Mat and watered it down, then I painted it onto my prepared background.
As the fabric is drying, I have colored my Wood Veneers. I mixed different shades of Magical and Magical Shakers to get a more natural and “airy” look.
To get another kind of texture and even more interest, I heat embossed the Hibiscus Flower and the “love” Wood Veneer pieces with some Clear Embossing Powder.
Before I started with the finishing of the Hoop, I glued the fabric onto the reverse side of the inner hoop. Like this I could just cut off the excess fabric and close the second hoop over it.
As soon as I had all my preparations done, I arranged my embellishments to the fabric and added some Jewel Drops as last finishing touches.
I love these bright tropical vibes!
