Reversed stencil technique background for beginners with Caroline

Hi lovelies,

Caroline with you and happy to be here today!

I love doing my own backgrounds but as I don’t want to buy 133455 stencils it’s sometimes a bit of the same. I will show you an easy way to use your stencils in another way combined with Lindy’s sprays.

It’s easy like 1.2.3 you will see!

First, choose a stencil with not too much details and use a scrap piece of paper. Then spray 2 or 3 times over a section of it over your scrap piece of paper. Don’t clean it! I sprayed with Starburst Whale watch blue on my paper.

You will have some remaining ink on your stencil. You can add a gentle spray of water over it to activate the pigment a little bit more.

Now it’s time to flip it over on a brand new sheet of paper of your choice. I always use watercolor paper for my creations with Lindy’s inks. It worth it, if you never tried a real watercolor paper, I promise!

Tadam! Now you have a wonderful new background with your same stencil!

I used some Hyacinth blue jade embossing powder over a chipboard frame to create my layering.

With the beautiful Starburst Sea mint green I colored some leaves to add to my layout.

I also added some splatters with the same green once my background was completely dry.

Here’s the final results and some close-ups.

I found that my ink made a cloudy effect, don’t you think?
