Hello Sweeties,
Today I’m up on Lindy’s Gang blog with a new project, a mixed media clock with loads of texture and beautiful dreamy colors. I’m using Lindy’s Squirts to color the background on this piece, they are great for mixed media projects as they are thicker than sprays and have a beautiful shimmer.
Basic process
-
- Prime the clock with white gesso
- Glue tissue papers with soft gel
- When dry, add a thin layer of gesso to blend the tissue papers
- Next, add a design with a stencil and modeling paste
- To give the effect of an old wall, add some white crackle paste
- When dry, color the clock with Hockey Puck Black, Toonie Loonie Teal, and I’m Late, I’m Late Slate
- Color some flowers with I’m Late, I’m Late Slate and Tea Pot Purple
- Die-cut different leaves in a watercolor paper
- Color the leaves with Hockey Puck Black, Toonie Loonie Teal, and Antique Gold
- Color the ivy branches with Toonie Loonie Teal, Gag Me With a Spoon Gray, and Tea Pot Purple
- Color some resin gears that were primed with clear gesso with Hockey Puck Black and Toonie Loonie Teal
- When all the elements are ready, use heavy body gel to glue them all
- Wax the gear with a gold wax as well as the edge of the clock and the design
- Wax also different sizes of Art Stones
- Glue them with soft gel.
