White on Black – Magicals & Embossing Powder Layout with Jana

Hi everyone, Jana back again with you and I have a new project for you all. This project was created on black cardstock with some bright details. I really enjoyed this process and I also tried some new techniques here. But let´s start with my process…

I started with some stencils, texture paste and the Nantucket Pearls Magical Set. I created four 6×6 areas with different texture pastes and stencils once everything was dry I started to color each of the squares with a different color. I mixed Whale watch blue with Seagrass green and a touch of Clam bake beige to create different shades of the powders. I grabbed a square die and cut my squares into little ones.

I wanted to add some white splatters to my black cardstock and I decided to use Sidewalk chalk from the Neon Graffiti Magical Set. I love how awesome this white is looking on the black! I also wanted to bring in some heat embossing and I grabbed Merry go round geen EP and Carefree verdigris chunky EP for that.

I also wanted to make my own embellishments for this project. I tried some modeling material and molds for the first time. I added a coat of black gesso to the wings, colored them with Whale watch blue Magical and finished the wings with some white gold wax. Oh my, I am totally happy about the outcome.

I added some metal gear pieces to the mix and for some more details, I mixed some microbeads with multi-medium matte and Whale watch blue magical. I placed it around and on top of the metal gear pieces. It brings everything together and I really like how this is going so far.

I wanted to place my picture on top of the wings, I added some layers of paper behind it and some matching thread. I finished my layout with some stickers and some more Whale watch blue coloring. I am deeply in love with this project and with the new things I tried.
