Hi everyone, welcome back to the Lindy´s Blog today. I have a new scrapbooking Layout for you. I grabbed one of my favorite purple Magical powder’s from Lindy’s to create this project, Teapot purple! I wanted to create some elements with the colors but I also wanted to use it on my background. I used it in a few different ways…
I started with my background, white cardstock. I stamped some black images onto my paper then I colored some heavy gesso with the Teapot Purple and then added the now purple gesso through a stencil. Once the gesso was dry I also splattered some of the purple color on top of it. I love the sparkle in this color!
I also wanted to color some cotton thread and I am happy with how easy and well this worked using Magiclas. I added some of the Teapot purple powder to an acrylic block (you could use any waterproof surface), added a tiny amount of water to it, and pressed the thread into the color. I let it dry by air and I am happy about the outcome.
Next step, coloring some cute paper flowers with the same color. I added a few layers of the purple to create deeper tones and different looks of the color on the flowers. Sometimes it´s much easier to work with monochromatic colors and some deep black details, or at least for me.
I created some other embellishments with some molds and modeling material. I first added a layer of black gesso, some gold wax and the last layer was the Teapot purple. As I am scrapping a picture from my hubby I thought it would be a perfect fit to add some masculine elements.
My elements are ready to go but I wanted to bring in some more black details and contrast. I grabbed some dies and some black cardstock, also fussy cut some black & white butterflies and started to arrange everything on my background paper. I clustered everything pretty close around the picture, I really like how this is looking and how the picture stands out against all the things around it.
I finished this layout with a cute crown, some black word stickers and some more Teapot purple coloring around the cluster. Here are some close-ups from my project.
