Two Colors = One Awesome Layout with Natalie May

Hey there Gang.

Natalie here on the Lindy’s blog again with a super quick and easy Scrapbook Layout using just two Magical Shakers!

I had these gorgeous stamps that I hadn’t really used yet so figured I’d make them the hero of the page by giving them a splash of Bavarian Blue and Guten Tag Teal!

I stamped them on Marshmallow Mixed Media Cardstock using black archival ink.

Then on my glass mat, I made a little puddle of Guten Tag Teal and Bavarian Blue, this became my paint palette.

Using a round paintbrush and water, I colored each of the stamped images, layering the colors to create a gradient.

For the body of the layout, I cut a piece of cardstock to be 8×11″ and printed some song lyrics from my computer (the song is Be Yourself by Hilltop Hoods– great Australian group).

I taped the left-hand edge to a base page and then taped all the cut out stamped images to the open edge so that they stuck out the side.

A few little splatters were needed to balance out the page so I used a light wash of the two colors and flicked it on with my brush.

I searched through my million packets of alphas for the right black letters for my title but didn’t find any – so the next best thing was to make my own by coloring them with a black paint pen.

I love that just two colors can look so good and compliment the photograph so perfectly!

Don’t overthink it – Just Create!
