Eye Catching Clean and Simple Cards with Lindy’s Magicals

Hello Everyone! Martina here on the Lindy’s Blog today with a fun and easy technique to create some clean and simple cards.

titel

Today, I am only using three Magicals to create these cards. The Blue (Stormy Sky) and Pink (Foxglove Fuchsia) are from the new Mountain Meadows Set, the Glitzy Magical I am using is Gleaming Gold.

I’ll be creating a pink and a blue card, with one color plus some Glitzy for each card.

Except for the colors and shapes I am using, the process is mainly the same (so easy to repeat for Christmas cards for example).
I am coloring three pieces of paper (regular Cardstock) for each card.

1

On the first piece of paper, I am applying a mix of water with color to create a pure, saturated coverage.

2

3

Then I am separating the leftover mixture to color the remaining two pieces of paper.

I am adding more water to one of the puddles to get a lighter wash of my previous color.

4

And some Gleaming Gold to the second puddle. This gives a shiny and slightly lighter version of the first mixture.

5

This is how it looks after the papers have been dried:

6

For my pink version, I have recreated the same steps with Foxglove Fuchsia and Gleaming Gold:

7

I have cut all blue papers with a leaf-shaped die and the pink ones with a circle punch.

(Since I believe that not everyone is able to use dies and a cutting machine, I have used the circle punch. If you are a beginner and have just some paper, colors and scissors – just use the scissors to cut some basic shapes! That will work out pretty fine as well!)

8

I am working on 6″x6″ card bases that I have drawn a circle on.

Before I am starting to assemble the cards, I am stamping sentiments to the middles of the circles.

9

Assembling the pieces to the lines of the circle is just fun and play. Adding something here – moving something there.

For the pink circles, I have been using glue and two different heights of foam adhesive, to stick them to the cards.

10

For the blue leaves, I have been using glue and tried to stick to a specified order when gluing them down.

11

And this is how they came out:

I totally love the monochromatic look of them – and.. of course: the partial shimmer!

I really do hope you like it too!
