Two Super Fast Cards with Magical Backgrounds

Hi Gang! It’s Cindy here and today I’d like to show you how you can create two super easy and super fast cards using Magical Shakers for your background.

We all have those moments where we need to create something fast because we forgot about a birthday or something like that. Although I love to create projects that take me some time because of the feeling of fulfillment when finished, it also is fun to search for new ways to create fast but beautiful things for whenever I don’t have a lot of time.

I’ve used two Magicals Shakers, Bavarian Blue and Gutentag Teal, Desert Moon Copper Teal Embossing Powder and Creme Brulee Cream Starburst Spray. You also need a craft sheet (or something similar, as long as the water doesn’t get drawn in), VersaMark ink, some fun word dies (or chipboard for instance) a stencil and two pieces of watercolor cardstock.

Start by sprinkling a little Gutentag Teal and Bavarian Blue powder on your craft sheet, don’t use too much if you like to achieve a light background (I’ve used some masking tape because I wanted to get clean edges…that didn’t work ;)). Then you add some splashes of Creme Brulee Cream spray. This color dries as a golden shimmer, very beautiful! Add some water with a spray bottle, and lay a sheet of watercolor cardstock on top. Press the paper on the craft sheet to pick up all the colors. If you add some again after you remove your first piece of paper, you can repeat this with the second piece.

After that, I’ve added some more splashed of Creme Brulee Cream, just because I really love that color.

Then add some texture by using a VersaMark stamp pad on a stencil and melting some embossing powder. I’ve used Desert Moon Copper Teal, which changes color when the light angle changes. You can see how the first background has a lot of colors and the second one is lighter. I love the effect when you use two pieces of cardstock and create two different cards with different looks.

After the embossing you can glue the two backgrounds on a new piece of cardstock and add a sentiment or chipboard phrase, I also tight two small bows and used some flatback pearls to embellish the cards.
