Today I’m up on Lindy’s Gang blog to show you how to make your own Jewel paste and to make your magical permanent.
Lindy’s Gang products are awesome, their colors so beautiful, the plain colors of the Flat Fabio range so vibrant and the Starburst so shiny. But sometimes the fact that they are water-reactive is not the effect you are looking for. In fact, you will want that these amazing colors stay forever as they are and won’t move with the next layer. The easiest way is to mix them with a liquid fluid medium. This medium will make them permanent without altering their colors, their shine, their transparency.
There is no easier way than mixing a tiny amount of Magical powder with a liquid fluid medium. Personally, I use the one designed by Finnabair, but any other gel medium will work. Of course, the intensity of the paint you obtain will depend on the quantity of Magical you add to the mix. If you want a shiny result use a gloss gel, but if you want a mat effect like with Flat Magical, I will recommend using a matte gel.
On this canvas, I used only paints made with Magicals and liquid fluid medium. The paints obtain are as transparent as if I’ve used only the corresponding sprays, but they are permanent. I was able to add different layers of color without them mixing together.
I made also my own Jewel paste to add to the upper top of the canvas. To obtain a result that is really similar to the new Jewel paste, you just need to choose your favorite color of Magical, the matching color of fine glitter, and 3D gloss gel. Unfortunately, I was unable to catch the beautiful result on my camera.
I’ve recorded the full process video which can be seen here
