Mixed Media Altered Brush by Marietta Tégi

Hello Everybody!

I know it’s only November, but I’ve already brought you this winter-themed creation. This time in the form of a brush.

First, I smeared the brush with 2 layers of white gesso, then I applied paper texture paste and crackle paste with a painter’s knife, as such the surface became a bit rough. I wanted more contrast, so I originally designed the brush in white or ecru, and most of the accessories in dark brown. For this I used Creme Brulee Cream and Frozen Jack Frost Starburst mist, as well as Cafe au Lait magical powder. For extra sparkle, I chose Snazzy Sparkle from the Glitzy Magical collection.

I chose AB Studio and Dusty Attic chipboards and sprinkled Wowzers White embossing powder on the windows and part of the gears. The edges of the windows and the rest of the Dusty Attic chipboard are covered with Cool Man Copper embossing powder from the So Fine collection.

I smeared the mould elements with white gesso, painted them with Maple Syrup Bronze Squirts, then used Silhouette Silver Moon Shadow mist and Aged Copper Magical Shaker, and Sea Grass Green flat magical. A little gold was missing, so I went for the Golden Doubloons, and finished it off with Green with Envy Green.

I used Finnabair metallic leaves and flowers to create the composition, on which I painted with Dark Chocolate Truffle and Sandra Dee Sepia magical powder.

After assembling it, I applied Bronze Age and Old White wax to the mold element and leaves, and also used it to highlight the brush handle.

As a final step, grainy decorative elements and minimal stamping were added.

I hope you’ll like it, and it will inspire you. You can check out the tutorial here: https://youtu.be/0nRXN7oCJHk
