Cities of the Future by Marietta Tégi

Hello Everyone!

I named today’s work Cities of the Future while I was still creating it, and that has become the final title. The world is changing very fast, in some areas extremely fast. I wanted to capture that motion in the steampunk style I love.

I made a Shadow box, covered inside and out with AB Studio papers. I greased the whole box with clear gesso and then applied white crackle paste.

I chose the Arctic Adventures collection designed by Olga Ravenskaya to create the main shades.
I then sprayed Frozen Jack Frost on the box first, then Iceberg Azure.
On the mould elements I used Narwhal Navy, Penguin Play Periwinkle and Snowy Tundra Sunset. I also sprayed Gossamer Gold for extra sparkle and a tiny brown-gold tint.

I sprinkled Gimme Five Gold embossing powder on Dusty Attic chipboards, then used it on the inside and rim of the box.

I added a few more Finnabair metal elements during the assembly.

Two, word labels were also added, and I used Gimme Five Gold embossing powder for the edges.

I did some minimal stamping and waxing, but this time I didn’t feel the need for the grainy embellishments, but I did splash some Blazing Black mist on the work.

I am hoping this has piqued your interest, if you’re curious about the process of making it, you can find the tutorial here:
