2023 Art Journal Cover by Marietta Tégi | Art Journal with Lindy’s

Hello Everyone!

It’s Marietta with you on the blog and I’m looking ahead with the cover of my art journal book 2023. 🙂
I took out an old book and greased it with gesso. I then applied paper texture paste with a stiff bristle brush, giving it extra texture. I also applied white crackle paste to the surface.
I sprinkled  Chrome Doesn’t Pay embossing powder on the edges. I sprayed on some mist from the Steampunk Soiree collection in shades of Apothecary Azure, Top Hat Teal and Petticoat Plum.

For the mould elements I also used mists from the Steampunk Soiree collection in the following shades: Yesteryear Yellow and Bandolier Brown, plus Goth Goggle Gold magical powder. I sprinkled Boogie Down Black embossing powder on the ram’s horns to give it more character.
I also put a big chipboard window on the front of the book, on which I first applied white gesso with a sponge, but first I tied the sponge with string so it only touched the surface in a few places. I sprayed on Petticoat Plum mist, some Blazing Black, then I’ve poured Chrome Doesn’t Pay embossing powder.
I used Patina Blue, Patina Green, White Gold, Old White and Brushed Iron waxes.
To finish, I complemented it with microbeads and glitters.

I wish you all a Happy New Year and lots of creative pastimes.

Love
Marietta
