Magical Shakers Mixed Media Tag by Ericka

Hello gang, Ericka here and today I am playing with the gorgeous Tea & Crumpet Magical Shakers set. I love this set comprised of 12 beautiful colors that can be used in so many ways. Today I used mine to make a background for my mixed media tag.

Basic Steps:
1. Prime the tag with white gesso.
2. Stamp the images (I used PaperArtsy Seth Apter’s 35 stamp set) with embossing ink and emboss with Lindy’s Wowzers White Detail Embossing Powder.
3. Apply Lindy’s Magical Shakers directly on the tag. Lightly spritz the powder with water to move the colors around the tag until you get the look you want. I used:

4. After full drying, grab your favorite stencil ( I used PaperArtsy Sara Naumann PS176) and embossing paste and use a pallet knife to apply it to your dry background. Apply embossing powder to the top of the embossing paste and wait for the paste to dry. Once dry, use your heat gun to melt the powder. I used Twilight Blue Slate Embossing powder which is in the Starter Kit.

5. Take a separate piece of watercolor paper and using some Magical in a pallet, paint a botanical image. I loosely painted a leaf using Drop Dead Gorgeous Green and shading with Ponderosa Pines Olive. Once it is dry, trace it with a pen, add some details, cut it out, and use foam tape to adhere it to your tag.

6. Stamp a sentiment (I used Hobby Arts Scene It Sentiments set) with embossing ink and emboss with Lindy’s Wowzers White Detail Embossing Powder.

7. Add fun details around your tag with a Posca paint pen.

I love the gorgeous colors the Tea & Crumpets Magical Shakers make and can’t wait to create more with this easy-to-use set. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week,

Ericka
