Sea Fish ATCs with Olga Ravenskaya

Hi gorgeous Lindy’s friends!

It’s Olga Ravenskaya with you today and I’d like to share my new Sea Fish ATC series, using incredible Lindy’s Starbursts, Shakers and Powders!   A season of summer holidays is coming for many of us and at every early June I start dreaming of the sea and making sea inspired projects 😉

Let me invite you to the colorful and bright underwater world!

Today, I’d like to show you the process of creating one of these ATCs.

It’s a paradox for me, but for such small pieces I used a huge amount of Lindy’s 😉

To start with, using transparent medium I glued a piece of cotton cloth to the thick carton base cut to ATC size.

Cut off the excesses of the cloth from the all sides and then glue die cuts to make the first layer.

After that I applied a thick layer of white modelling paste through a striped stencil to imitate water surface.

Next step I glued art stones, shells, a pieces of jute cord for “algae” to create a seabed, using a transparent medium.

And covered all the surface with white and black gesso as on the photo below.

Then I took four gorgeous Starbursts – Azure Sea Asters, Sassy Sapphire, Time Travel Teal, Tainted Love Teal – and painted the surface, color by color, from light to dark using a brush. I repeated this procedure several times to reach a beautiful combo of shades.

To add the colors to the sea bottom I used bright Shakers – Cuckoo Clock Cardinal, Polka Purple, Grab a Guy Gold and Magnolia Magenta Gold. Just sprinkled them to the bottom of a card and added a small amount of water.

Stamped a bit with a white gesso using a cap of the bottle.

To highlight the water relief, I stamped the surface with a striped stamp and embossed them step by step, using C’est la vie Cerise, Morning Glory Azure and at the end Venus Violet Blue Powders.

Now it’s time to color fish with the Shakers.

Just sprinkle and add water!

I do love Shakers for their very intensive colors and shimmer, it’s the best way to make any die cuts so attractive. Have a look  – such a gorgeous effect!

Then I arranged all my embellishments on the card, using a gloss medium.

And as the very last step I added tiny sequins, a bit of glitter, cheesecloth and white splashes.

Now ready! 😉

And some more photos of the two other cards for a little inspiration…
