Hello Sweeties
Today I’m up on Lindy’s Gang blog with a new step-by-step page of my family journal. Today’s page uses pretty pastel colors on the background to add interest and a sense of old world charm to the pages.
First I covered the background with clear gesso. Then, I stamped the background with two inks: Witch’s Potion Purple and Guten Tag Teal. Use a brush to add the color to the stamps. I added the third color: Tawny Turquoise using a different stamp. I dried the page, before adding more of the brown ink with a brayer.
My next step was to add a design with a stencil and paper paste.
While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled two embossing powders: C’est la vie Cerise and Weeping Willow green which I heat embossed.
I added more of the brown ink and splattered on Witch’s Potion Purple and Guten Tag Teal.
I’ve glued together some paper scraps and I checked to see where I needed to add more inks on the pages.
When happy, I glued down the photo, papers, black thread and a few chipboard pieces.
I decided to color the chipboard afterward rather than leaving them raw and uncolored.
Next, I stamped again with different stamps and two colors of Archival ink.
To finish the layout I added some microbeads.
And here are some close-ups, pretty and still beautifully vintage:
