Rainbow Art Journal Page with Magicals and Texture Paste with Martina

Hej Everyone!
Today, I’d like to create a page that will be glued into my art journal.

I am planning on using a whole rainbow of Magicals and Texture Paste.

I am taping the stencil to my work surface to avoid any moving of it when applying texture paste.

I applied Texture Paste through the stencil until all the negative space of the stencil is filled properly.

Then, I start with adding color. A tiny amount of the Magical powder goes a long way.

I apply at most two different colors to my texture paste before I am spreading it with my pallet knife over the wet texture paste.

I try to avoid unnecessary moves with the pallet knife on the color and try to keep my moves nice and smooth.

When all the color is spread out, I can lift the stencil and let the background dry.

The leftovers on the stencil make an amazing ghost print, by the way!

This is how the background is looking now.

I stamped a sentiment onto cardstock to create a focal point for my project.

Since I’d like to incorporate more of the black color, that has been used for the stamping, I am coloring a piece of cardstock with Black Hole Black Magical. From this paper, I die-cut butterflies to add to the project.

I really like this kind of mise-en-place before assembling a project.

And this is how today’s page turned out.

Textured rainbow-woodgrain with flowers and butterflies.

I am totally happy with the result and hope you like it too!

I have been using:

Other Materials:

  • Texture paste, The Crafters Workshop Stencil, Pinkfresh Studio Stamps, Alexandra Renke Dies.

Thank you so much for watching!

have a great day!
