Mixed media creation – Present time – by Marietta Tégi

Hello Lindy’s Fans!

This time I made a steampunk style creation for you with fabulous textures, lots of layers and some beautiful Lindy’s colors.

Step by step

First I glued 3 pieces of wood together. I left it to dry for about half an hour and then started to create.

I spread the top and all sides with white gesso. I then stenciled it with a light paste, which has a bit of a wood grain pattern to accentuate it, and sprinkled Bratwurst Brown embossing powder on it. I put white crackle paste on some parts.

Because it’s a wood effect creation, I only wanted the background to be all green, so I wanted to achieve a matte and glossy effect at the same time, so I used Aloha Avocado from Flat Fabio’s collection, and then Dunka’s Biscuits Blue Green from Magical shaker 2.0.

I also added a slightly more intense color, which was Emerald eh?!  from the Northern Lights collection of Starburst Squirts. You won’t find it in this form now, but you can find Emerald eh?!  in magical powders.

I used Finnabair mold elements, on which I first sprayed Cocoa Bean Cooper mist. Then I used Bring The House Down Brown from the Vinny’s View collection. The following is one of my favorite of the moon shadow mists Gossamer Gold.

I painted some elements with a slightly more contrasting colour, I used Urban Amethyst, Lizzy’s Cuppa’ Tea Teal, Parrotfish Purple, but in the end, the more intense blues and purples didn’t suit the composition, so I added a little golden-brown namely Roll in the hay.

I used dusty attic chipboards with Slam Dunk Silver embossing powder.

I used Slam Dunk Silver embossing powder on the winged mold element, but only on the edges, using an embossing pen to achieve this effect.

During the assembly, I had a feeling of lack, so I added some metal elements.

After that, I only used waxes and granular decorative elements.

If you’d like to see the process, I’ve also made a tutorial on it, which you can find here:

Have a nice day 🙂

Love,
Marietta
