Today I’m going to step away from my usual page style for a change, and create something simple. There are days when I just want to put a thought on paper and add a simple illustration, so that’s what I’m doing today. Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays are perfect for creating layered and super sparkly pages, but are equally wonderful for paler and simpler artworks. They are also a dream to journal over, and worked beautifully with my Copic Multi Liners.
Lindy’s Products
- Starburst Sprays: Tiffany Lou Blue, Blue Hawaiian Blue, Salt Water Taffy & French Lilac Violet
Other Products
- X-Press It Mixed Media Journal
- Crafters Workshop Stencil – Mini Flying Geese
- Molotow Masking Pen or frisket
- Flat paintbrush
- Copic Multi Liners: 0.05, 0.3, 0.5
Steps
Step 1: Use masking pen or frisket to create a waterproof barrier around your page.
Step 2: Wet your page, ensure all areas are damp
(you can tell you have enough water when there is a sheen covering the surface)
Step 3: Randomly spray Starbursts across wet page, one colour at a time, I started with Tiffany Lou Blue.
Add flicks/drops/drips of colour. Use the French Lilac Violet sparingly as it is the strongest colour.
If the colour begins to pool either tilt the page or mop up some of the liquid with a paper towel. You want colour on the page but NOT pools of liquid.
Step 4: Allow the page to dry, then use an eraser to remove the masking/frisket.
I used Copic Multi Liners to add both image and journaling, and they practically flowed across my starburst covered page.
When tilted towards the light the beautiful shimmer of the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starbursts is prominent.
Tilted the other way, the black of the images and text jumps from the page.
While simple, the black journaling against the sparkle of the Starbursts conveys what I wanted to put on paper AND looks stunning.
Simple or complexly layered, Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starbursts are perfect for every project!

Absolutely beautiful! I love the shine and the depth from the Copic Multiliners. I will be investing in a masking pen and thank you so very much for sharing this informative tutorial. Again, a gorgeous page.
