Hi gang! It’s Tina here today to share with you a mixed media cover of my art journal made with Lindy’s Magical Powder, Sprays and Embossing Powder.
First I applied a white gesso on the cover of an old book with a brush. Then I added one more layer of gesso with a spatula.
Next, I glued a few paper die cuts on the cover and added a white crackle paint here and there to create some texture.
To make the background more complicated I added a few pieces of mesh tape. And then applied a modeling paste through a stencil over the top of the mesh.
Then I played with Lindy’s Black Orchid Silver and Sassy Sapphire sprays and a Red Hot Poker Orange magical powders to create a vivid and beautiful background.
I dry brushed the cover with the white gesso, to make the texture more visible.
I also decided to stamp a little with black Archival ink. And then I added text stamping with embossing ink, poured a Cleaopatra’s Copper embossing powder over and heated it with a heating tool.
To finish, I added a turquoise thread and some paper embellishments. I also highlighted them here and there with a black liner.
I created a step-by-step video so you can see exactly how this was made, I hope you will enjoy it! You can watch the video below or on Lindy’s Stamp Gang Youtube Channel.
And here is a few close-ups.
